Where do I begin? I can't even tell you how excited I am to start this journey - not just because of photography, but also because I have always loved writing and having a space to be creative. But I guess the best place to start would be with photography.
I didn't learn photography in school. Shocker! I know. As much as I loved taking and looking at pictures, my family never bought me a nice camera or encouraged me to take more pictures (mostly because we were a musical family, so that was our focus). So I never in a million years thought I could do photography. I mean, every photographer I knew started in Junior High, so I could never be as good as them, right?
WRONG. As I started following more photographers on Instagram, I started learning that so many of them started after they got married, or after they had kids, or after they had a miraculous vision when they had wisdom teeth taken out. They weren't born with cameras in their hands. They took a camera and, with passion in hand, PRACTICED.
I really hope that sharing my journey helps some of you out there who have the same misconception! I set my mind to something and I practiced my little heart out. I'm still practicing and (I believe) I'm getting better with every shot. I get to express my creativity while getting to hang out with some really fun people.
So I want this to be a space where I share my photos, share my writing, and also share what I learn along the way. I learned today that I'm naming my pictures all wrong - who knew! Practice (and an eagerness to learn) makes perfect, right?
